Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information SKATE LOG collects and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
SKATE LOG may collect information such as your email address, display name, user ID, password, profile details, icon and cover images, check-in logs, visibility settings, likes, follows, notifications, correction requests, submitted photos, reports, and inquiry details.
Passwords are stored in hashed form. The operator cannot view your password in plain text.
2. Location Information
Location information is used to determine whether you are near a registered skatepark and to provide the check-in feature. Location access is based on your browser or device permission.
As check-in records, SKATE LOG mainly stores the park ID, check-in date and time, visibility settings, and related details. Raw current location data is handled only as needed for check-in decisions, unusual check-in review, and service operation, and is not kept longer than necessary.
3. Purposes of Use
Collected information is used to provide, operate, improve, analyze, and develop SKATE LOG, including new features, account management, identity confirmation, email verification, log storage, profile display, Friend LOG, timelines, badges, notifications, safety management, fraud and abuse prevention, inquiry handling, correction requests, reports, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and related purposes.
We may also use your information to send email verification messages, important notices, terms updates, incident information, operational notices, and security notifications.
We may process collected information statistically and use it in a form that does not identify individuals for service improvement, usage analysis, new feature planning, public relations, and service introductions.
4. Public Information
Your display name, user ID, profile, public logs, like counts, follow relationships, and similar information may be shown to other users depending on your settings and visibility choices.
If you publish a check-in log, the park name, check-in date and time, memo, visibility setting, and related details may be displayed. Street spots are not intended for public listing and may have restricted visibility.
5. External Services and Cookies
SKATE LOG uses external services and infrastructure for access analytics, map display, external map links, email delivery, hosting, databases, and security operations. These may include Google Analytics, Leaflet, OpenStreetMap official tiles, Google Maps links, SMTP email functions, and hosting environments.
These services may collect or process cookies, device information, access information, email delivery information, and communication data needed for security and service operation.
If cookies are disabled, some functions such as login sessions, analytics, and map display may not work properly.
Google Maps is used as an external link and location reference. SKATE LOG does not use Google Maps for unauthorized copying, scraping, or storage of map data.
6. Use of External Providers
External providers are used only as needed to keep the service stable, including analytics, email delivery, cloud infrastructure, hosting, security measures, and map display.
Personal information and service data may be stored or processed on servers outside Japan when cloud services or external providers are used.
When using external providers, SKATE LOG limits the information handled to what is necessary for service provision, safety management, and improvement.
7. Sharing and Outsourcing
SKATE LOG does not sell or provide personal information to third parties except when required by law, when we have your consent, when necessary to protect life, body, or property, or when sharing with service providers is necessary for operation.
External services may be used within the scope necessary for email delivery, analytics, server operation, and other service functions.
8. Use by Minors
SKATE LOG may not be used by anyone under 16 years old. Users who are 16 or older but under 18 must use the service with consent from a parent or guardian.
If confirmation is needed regarding a minor's use, the operator may suspend, verify, or delete the account.
9. Retention and Deletion
Account information and logs are stored for as long as needed to provide the service. When withdrawal, account deletion, or a deletion request is made, a 30-day restoration period is generally provided. During this period, the account and logs will no longer be shown publicly.
After 30 days, account information and related data will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable scope, except for information necessary for legal compliance, security, abuse prevention, inquiry handling, dispute handling, and maintenance.
Report handling records, abuse prevention logs, legally required records, and aggregated anonymous data may be retained as needed.
10. Security Management
SKATE LOG takes necessary measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, alteration, and leakage of personal information, including access restrictions, password hashing, communication safeguards, and operational security management.
11. Requests and Contact
For confirmation, correction, deletion, suspension of use, account deletion, or other questions about personal information, please contact us through the inquiry page. Account deletion can also be started by users from the account management screen. If you log in with the same email address and password within 30 days, the account can be restored.
